EKEMEL cooperated with the Municipality of Paros in 2003 for a series of translation workshops on literature. The success of these courses made us decide to establish a permanent center for writers and translators. The Mayor of Paros agreed enthusiastically. Thus the House of Literature was inaugurated in 2004.
The House of Literature accepts as guests writers and translators from all over the world.
The House of Literature at Lefkes, the old capital of Paros, affords the ideal working conditions for writers and translators. There are available 12 double and 2 single rooms, sitting-room, full equipped kitchen and dinning-room, desktop computers and library.
Writers and translators can stay at the House of Literature for a period of two weeks (minimum) to three months (maximum).
There is a participation fee of 50 Euros for EU citizens and a daily fee of 15 Euros for non EU citizens. Please note that residence booking is effective after the payment of the admission fee.
